Halloween is almost here, now let’s hear about what Google has to say versus students are Yukon Middle School. Screen Rant website shared that the top 5 movies are:
1. Halloween
2. The Nightmare on Elm Street
3. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
4. Carry
5. Scream 1
YMS students like the Scream series but liked the original more, this was also the case with IT, Friday the 13th, and Halloween. The two favorites seem to be Scream 1 and IT. According to the multimedia powerhouse for horror movie reviews, The Bloody Disgusting states how Scream movies had humongous popularity in the box office and stores. “The Ghost face costume was readily available at every Halloween shop…having extended the longevity of the slasher genre once before with A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984, Scream made Craven responsible for revolutionizing the entire genre.” Based on Slash Film, “to get the obvious out of the way: yes, if we’re being completely honest, the original Scream is technically the best film in the franchise. It’s got the tightest script, the best opening scene, and probably one of the best-executed killer reveals in the slasher genre.” Turning to the movie IT, Quora and Living Life Fearless explains “Yes, Pennywise is very scary, but the clown itself serves a purpose for the story and taps directly into our shared emotions and inner children, all while being an absolute spectacle to behold.” With spooky season here, know that Scream 1 is the fan favorite for a good scare among not just our middle school students but around the world.
