The emo and scene community have been around since the early 1980s, it started as a subgenre of punk and rock music. Now emo kids can easily be defined by their skinny jeans, dark colored hair usually taking on spiky side-bangs, and their heavy, raccoon-like eyeliner. What may not be known is that they’re often confused with scene kids.
Scene kids are usually a lot more colorful in their clothing and hair. Scene kids can be identified with their bright, straight, teased hair also into side bangs. Their layered, studded belts usually in a bright color. Their neon-colored clothing that could easily blind you. Most importantly, their heavy, kandi bracelets. Emo and Scene aren’t just fashion based, but also music based!
Emo is fashion based and music based, Scene is more fashion based but also music based as well. Examples of emo bands would be Falling In Reverse, Escape the Fate, and Pierce the Veil. There are many types of emo music, including Emotional Hardcore, Screamo, midwest emo, and many more. It’s a fact that there’s really no specific genre of “scene” music, but there is a genre that most scene kids listen to which is crunkcore. Crunkcore is the main genre listened to by scene kids. Three crunkcore artists are Brokencyde, DotDotCurve, and Isetmyfriendsonfire just to name a few.
It’s important to know that not everyone looks, dresses, or even expresses themselves the same, it’s all up to the individual. Take this as a glimpse into a world of difference and embodiment of emotions.
