Valentine’s day is a popular holiday in the United States as well in Britain, Canada, and Australia. In Yukon middle school it is very popular for couples and friends, and sometimes family as well. At our school we will have a Valentine’s day dance and it will be on February 14, you don’t only have to bring a date you can bring friends or you can just be alone it’s your choice! Gift baskets, and gifts in general are popular to give on Valentine’s day, some common gifts given on Valentine’s day are chocolate, flowers, perfume, jewelry, and love notes/cards. People can also do scavenger hunts on valentines day believe it or not! We looked up what kind of scavenger hunt people do on valentines day and we saw that a Mom from the website Wunder-mom said “I write out ‘clues’ on paper hearts and hide them throughout the house. After dinner, I pass out the first clue and the kids have a great time searching for their gift! We don’t do big gifts, just something small like a book or a fun cup and a box of conversation hearts.” There are lots of other things you can also do on valentines day like hang out with family and friends. When people don’t have a date or they simply just want to do something else other than celebrate it with someone you love romantically they hang out with either family or friends or maybe just spend some time alone and sleep like Ms. Breedlove for example. When people hang out with their family and friends they do game nights and dance parties and make some fun little crafts. As you can see you have multiple things to do on valentines day whether you have a partner or not!
